Privacy policy

Who we are

Fundfinder NZ (kiwisaverfundfinder.org) is an independent educational website that helps New Zealanders compare KiwiSaver funds and plan for retirement. We are not a financial advice provider and we do not hold your KiwiSaver money.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the rights you have under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

Optional requests — if you request emailed fund matches or a switching comparison, we store your name, email, submitted answers (including salary and balance), fund details, results and request date. If you ask for an adviser call, we also store your phone number and call-request consent. Contact-form submissions store the details and message you submit; joining the updates list is optional.

Usage information — like most websites, our hosting and analytics tooling records technical information such as pages visited, approximate location (country/city level), device and browser type. This is aggregated and not used to identify you personally.

Calculations run in your browser. Finder answers can also appear in the page address and shared result links, so do not share a link containing details you want to keep private. Submitting an optional results request sends the answers and results with your contact details to us. We do not ask for your IRD number, bank account details or passwords.

How we use your information

We use submitted information to send the results or updates you requested, respond to messages and manage requests. Asking for results does not subscribe you to newsletters. If you separately request an adviser call, your name, email and phone may be shared with a financial adviser to respond to that request. We do not share your contact details with advisers without that request, or sell them for unrelated marketing.

Aggregated usage information helps us understand which tools and guides are useful so we can improve them.

Cookies and advertising

We do not currently serve paid advertising. If we introduce advertising served by a third party such as Google AdSense in future, that provider and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

If advertising is introduced, you can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) and learn more at aboutads.info/choices.

Our calculators and fund finder do not require cookies to work.

Where your information is stored

Optional result requests, contact messages, subscription details and adviser-call requests are stored in our cloud database with access restricted to authorised administrators. Hosting, email delivery and analytics providers may process data on servers outside New Zealand. Submitted information is used to fulfil and manage your request; you can ask us to access, correct or delete it through the contact form.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it.

To stop updates, withdraw an adviser-contact request, ask for deletion, or raise a privacy question, use our contact form. Withdrawing a request cannot undo contact details already shared with an adviser; you can also contact that adviser directly.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated shown below.
